Read about the Founder's son Stephen.   Stephen was nonspeaking at eleven-years-old, however his mother refused to give up on expressive speech (even though his former school placement recommended just that).  Working with a team of therapists (some of which are members of the Spectrum Board of Directors), they used their motor-sensory-language approach and experiential learning
